A Chance Encounter

I am amazed that I was actually able to shoot this bird right on my front lawn.  What a spectacular experience!

The Pileated Woodpecker

I was even more excited to be able to take more than one photo without the bird getting nervous and flying off.

Up Close with the neighborhood birds.

I couldn’t stop taking photographs. But eventually the woodpecker moved on.

Probably my one and only true nature shot.
